When we approached Tony for an insight into the Bogus bass man, his response was quick and to the point:

'Don't ask me mate, ask the ladies!'

Nuff said mate! Which is quite appropriate really since the man in question plays the part of Alan 'Nuff' Lancaster in the tribute that is Bogus Quo.

Although Rich was very quick to point out that he is just as big a fan of Mr John 'Rhino' Edwards, the Status Quo bass player since 1986.

'I'm a massive Quo fan. Alan Lancaster WAS "The Man", and now Rhino IS "The Man". But my bass guitar is a Kramer, so I figured I'd better go for the Lancaster look!'

Rich Lawrence has been playing the bass in Bogus Quo since May 2004.

Its hard to believe, but this is his first band playing bass guitar:

'Yeah, I've always played lead guitar in all of my previous bands,' Rich explains, 'but I'm mad for Status Quo and so jumped at the chance to join Bogus.'

'In fact, if they had wanted a tambourine player I'd have been up for it!'

'I was a bit of a Wings fan years ago, and then I heard the "Hello!" album, and its been Status Quo for me ever since.'

'I've been playing guitar for as long as I can remember, and was lucky enough to be tutored as a kid by Burnsey Brown of the Brownhill Stamp Duty band.'

'I've played guitar in a number of Metal bands, including Whitechapel and Subterfuge.'

'When I'm not playing or rehearsing with Bogus Quo I teach guitar, so you could kind of say its my life man!'
