Pete Blake was born to play Rick Parfitt in a Status Quo tribute band.

Pete’s no-nonsense approach to his rhythm guitar playing bears an uncanny resemblance to the great man himself.

But guitar playing ability aside, Pete has the one attribute that puts him above most other Parfitt wannabes: His vocals.

‘Yeah, fans of the band have told me how much I sound like Rick, and that’s really nice. One guy told me that when we appeared on South City FM for the “In Session” series he actually thought it was Parfitt on the radio! Apparently I even talk like him too!’

However, Pete admits to being a fairly recent convert to rock music Quo style.

‘I personally wasn’t a massive fan early on, but having joined the band and played Quo music you do get into it. It’s good rock n’ roll boogie, everyone likes it!’

‘Its Quo all the way now, I love it. And the more I find out about Status Quo, the more pleased I am that I play Rick in Bogus. I mean, after all, he's been a bit of a lad in his time hasn’t he!’

‘Its just a shame I’ve not got his hair, ‘cause it gets seriously hot on stage wearing this wig!’
