(Mark and Dave at Tadley - Mark's
final gig with Bogus Quo) |
|
|

 |
'Total Diamond Geezer'
just about best sums up Mark Jones, the man behind the drums in Bogus Quo from
2002 through to the recent gig in Tadley (June 2010).
'I've been playing the drums on and off for about twenty
years now', says Mark.
'Bogus had a couple of false starts where drummers are
concerned, and then I got the call from Geoff, our original bass player.'
'He suggested I learn seven Quo songs for the first
session with the band, so I learnt ten and we finished up playing about twenty
that evening! So I guess you could say it went well!'

| Just like Pete, Mark wasn't an original Status Quo fan:
'I was into Rush, Queen
and Maiden big time, but now after playing
in Bogus for eight years I'm one of Quos biggest fans. Its funny, now when I hear Quo on the
radio or something, it feels like they're playing one of my songs! I'm mad for
it!'

| We were told to ask him about a gig in Hedge End:
'Oh I know why you've asked that! We were booked to play
at a lads 40th birthday do. He's a massive Quo fan, a real nutcase. Anyway, he
plays guitar and his brother and mate were down for the party and they played
guitar and bass. So I offered to play the drums for 'em, and hey! we had a
support band! Least I could do. But I got a rollocking from the others, they
reckoned I played better for them than I did for Bogus that night!'
